Our journey through the years
Over 30 years of passion for toffee and confectionery
It all begins
Magnus bought broken-down machines from a caramel maker in Gränna. After 1.5 years of experimenting, they finally had a machine and a batter that were willing to cooperate.
Expansion to Gothenburg
Hemkonfektyr purchased a confectionery factory in Gothenburg. New products including rock candy, roasted almonds and toffee lollipops.
Shop opens
A 20 sqm shop opened and quickly became a tourist attraction. The toffee machine produced around 1.2 tonnes of toffee per day.
Fudge – a Swedish first
Fudge was developed as a new product – first in Sweden. The operation produced around 16 tonnes per week.
A new direction
A restart was planned when Hemkonfektyr decided to close its confectionery production.
Kolafabriken AB is founded
Kolafabriken AB was founded. Premises in Bräkne-Hoby. Axfood became the first major customer.
Gazelle company
40 new customers from trade fairs. Named "one of Sweden's gazelle companies" with an AA credit rating.
International debut
ISM Cologne, ISO 22000 FSSC certification. New toffee machine and climate system installed.
A modern toffee factory
13 employees, turnover ~SEK 34.7 million. Certified factory with exports to several countries.
